 learning and networking.

 

This will be a brown-bag lunch event.  Please remember to bring plenty of business cards.  And...a special drawing will be held for a prize!

 

**Parking:  Please park in the spots surrounding the community center or across from the apartments.  Please do not park directly in front of the tenants' units.

How I Learned to Love Clowns

Creative Cultivation of Major Donor Gifts

 

Veteran fundraiser and non-profit executive Evan Kingsley will explore the passions that drive donors to make major gifts, and ways that development professionals can key in to motivate giving.

 

About our speaker, Evan M. Kingsley:

Evan M. Kingsley has over 25 years experience in leadership positions in museums, parks and libraries. He joined The Whelan Group from the American Jewish Historical Society, where he was Executive Director. He was formerly Deputy Director for External Affairs at the International Center of Photography in Manhattan and Brooklyn Public Library where he was also founding President of the Brooklyn Public Library Foundation from 1997 to 2004. Additional staff positions and consulting roles were at the New Museum of Contemporary Art; the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum; Film Forum; and the Jewish Museum. He began his career as the first director of Lefferts Homestead Historic House Museum in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. Mr. Kingsley has managed capital projects and capital campaigns, built and trained non-profit boards, developed institutional identity and marketing initiatives, designed exhibitions and public programs, and secured major corporate, foundation, individual and government support. He was a founder of the Heart of Brooklyn, a consortium of six major cultural institutions. Mr. Kingsley has a B.A. from Columbia University in Art History and Architecture; an M.A. from New York University in American Civilization; and an M.B.A. from Baruch College in Management and Marketing. He has served on numerous boards.
